okay yall first off i just want to say happy pioneer day!! yesterday we had a pot luck dinner after church and it was the best food ever!! this area is seriously going to make me so fat!! we get fed here like every day and it is not helping my six months to sexy!! also little fact for yall. i have 100 days left today!! its not like im counting down though! anyways this week was a real hot week!! but it was actually pretty dry! it hasnt really rained a lot here this week which is nice because that means its not as humid but in reallity it still is really humid! this week we were under heat advisory because it was like 115 degrees everyday!!
i cant really think of anything to say this week but that the church is true!!
oh i thought of something!!
there is a member here and he is the most Bad A person ever! he was one of the first black navy pilots in the world and he is actually a civil rights hero!! anyway he was telling us a story about how he was fighting in nam and he got shot down and as he was parachuting down this guy was shooting at him and when he landed the guy came up to him and stabbed him through the chest with a bayonette and while he was getting stabbed he shot the guy and killed him! and he mentioned after that the whole time he was falling and stuff his right leg was on fire!
its also cool because his grandson is one of our investigators so we get to see him often!
well thats about it for me this week yall!
love yall!

well this was a crazy week!! we got to go to nola this week and it was so cool because literally all my friends that are still on the mission are down in nola so it was so cool getting to see them all!! but it was also sad because it will probably be the last time that i see them until i get home or until they get home!!
we went on exchanges this week with the dl and i was with elder davis in a little town called amite and it was a really nice exchange. elder davis and i ended up having a conversation that was totally spirit led and it helped both of us with some questions and problems we were struggling with and it was really cool because we got it all cleared up!
while we were on exchanges we met this family. and they have a son who lost half his brain due to brain cancer and he was the funniest kid i have ever been around! he reminded me just like my boy hayden nickel! we were playing skipbo with them and i was taking a little too long to finish my turn and he looked at me and asked if i even know how to count! haha i told him of course i know how to count i just dont kno wwhat to do!! so later in the game i was talking and he was all like "you sound like a man!" and i responded in a low voice "its because i am a man!" and he just laughed and then said "real men know how to count!!" i was literally dying of laughter! it was the funniest thing ive heard yall.
so yesterday i had to give my third talk in church this transfer. and for all yall that arent aware... there have only been three sundays this transfer. and it was really cool because i was speaking with a member from the stake high council and he told me that im free to talk about whatever i want so i chose to talk about how the gospel blesses families. and that is the exact same thing he talked about as well! it was so cool because neither of us knew that we were going to be talking about the same subject. its crazy how the spirit works like that.
one more thing. i know this is too early to be thinking about it but i have already found the guy who is going to cater my wedding reception. his name is bro ron abel and he is literally the best cook in the entire world. hes one of my favorite members ive met here in louisiana. i think i ate my favorite meal yesterday at his house.
love yall so much and i cant wait till we can meet again! hanging out with the families here really reminds me of all the times we would just sit around someones house and just conversate and i cant wait to do that again!! once again thanks for all the prayers and crap! especially right now with the shootings and stuff.

okay well if yall arent aware of the recent events here in louisiana there was two white police officers who shot a black guy and now there are a whole bunch of riots and shootings going on here. sometimes it can be pretty scary but we know the lord protects his servants. (just not stupid) so because of the situation we have a special curfew and have to be in before the sun goes down. its like super crazy out here. everyone is talking about it!
but on saturday elder arellano and i had a very spiritual lesson with one of our investigatros neil and it was really nice. so neil has been an investigator for like 5 years now and has always had a problem with joseph smith and the authority of the priesthood and so we had a member come with us to kinda throw down on him. and it was exactly what he needed. bro calmese used the best scriptures in the bible and dc to show neil that there actually needs to be authority to use the priesthood. it was super spiritual and very cool.
dang i also gave a talk at church yesterday and i didnt prepare it at all haha i was so nervous! it was about how members can work with the missionaries. all the missionaries had to do it and i have more time out on my mission than all the three others that serve in my area (my comp and the sisters) so when i went up to speak i was like unlike these other guys i have been a missionary for about 21 months so ive been around the block a couple times and then i just shared some of the stories i have gained from seeing member missionary work.
alrighty dudes i gotta go!
love yall!!

the members here feed us.
they feed us everyday.
i have never had that.
we had a ward party yesterday and it was a pancake breakfast and it was so good and fun!
we translate for sacrament meeting and we sit at the front and it makes me feel like im a professional because we have a whole mic setup and everything.
we went to these members house last night for the fourth and i literally felt like i was part of their family.
there are more missionaries in this area so we are not the only ones for pday.
there is a family who has a gian, and i mean giant, jungle jim and we are going over to play on it today haha. also that family is awesome! the kids gave me their guinea pigs to hold and dress up right as soon as i walked in and it reminded me of the cuteness haha.
also i think my address is
15043 woodstone dr #247
hammond, la 70401
there are some pictures the family took but they didnt send them to me so ill make sure that we can get them on next pday!
