Monday, October 10 2016

haha dont worry mom. i have my own countdown. i try not to think about it but it just happens! time is going by so fast!! so this week was pretty cool. we went to nola for ztm and i bore my go home testimony to the zone!! it was really cool because i got to hang out with elder ainge again and i called elder wilson while i was giving my testimony so he can hear it and i cracked a joke during the testimony and heard his stupid laugh and i couldnt help myself and i burst into laughter for like a minute! its getting really hard to stay focused out here. i cant stop thinking about RC and all that stuff! so we went to marias house and taught them about repentance and we decided that it would be better for us to wait for her mom to get ready for baptism as well so we can dunk them together. so we wont have the baptism this week. but we are still working with them. haha there is this guy in our branch who has high functioning autism and last week during confrence when president monson and the twelve walked in he stood up and did the nazi salute whilst saying "heil monson!" "heil the twelve!" and we were dying laughing!! it was hilarious!! good thing it was just the missionaires though. and yesterday during fast and testimony meeting he goes up to bear his testimony and he was like "im sure the missionaries can agree with me here. the people who oppose the prophets dont want me in salt lake because if i was there i would pile drive them into their seats for what they do!" the whole congregation (of 3 people minus the missionaries) couldnt contain themselves! hes a funny guy. well thats about it i think ill talk to yall next week! elder horrocks

Monday, October 3 2016

alright well this week was a pretty cool week! not much happened but i just wanted to let yall know that im still working hard! so last week we had an awesome member with our investigator maria and we talked about baptism and it was such a spiritual lesson!! after the lesson we were telling her about how the lord helps out those who follow his comandments and prepare a way for them and then we asked her to be baptized and she was like... DUH!! so we asked her if she can commit to the 15th of october and she was so excited! also general confrence was like way cool. i think my favorite talk was by linda reeves! i cant really remember any of the talks but i do remember that they were all very good!!! i was hoping that they would have talked about the flooding here and how the helping hands was a big blessing to louisiana but that didnt happen. so maybe they will talk about it in april or something. well thats about it for all this week. not really much to talk about this week. love yall and i hope yall have a good week! here are teh pictures of our fishing extravaganza

Wow guys fist off I just want to say I never thought that I would get to this point. I am officially on my last transfer. Secondly congrats to Colby and max! I thought yall were only 5 so I was shocked when I got the baptism invitation haha. Well for this last transfer elder bean got transferred and I am training for my last six weeks wich really helps me stay motivated for the final stretch. But I can't help think about all the stuff I want to do when I get home! So here is a list to get it out of my head. In no particular order. 1 dell taco. I need some value bean and cheese goodness. 2. Mountains. I want to go drive to one and play in the snow. 3. My planes. I want to fly them. 4. Guns. I want to shoot one. 5. Hang out with the fam. And last and most importantly 6. I need mom to scratch my back until my first layer of skin is no longer there. And one more post script. 7. I want to drive the jeep. Now that I got that out of the way. My new companion is elder isrealsen. He us from north Logan and this is his second transfer in the field so "technically" I'm not training him. He is cool. He is really quiet but it's alright. I can get anyone to talk. People say he is a quieter version of me but I'm not sure what I know what that means.. So this week was really cool because for the first time in my entire mission I had an investigator come to church the first Sunday after the initial contact! that's right ladies and gentlemen, we met her on Thursday and she came to church sunday! Her name is Maria and we want her to get baptized before I leave so I can have a baptism in each of my areas. The inly problem is she lives 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the church and she doesn't have a car so the members need to take her. And they all live very close to the church. But let's hope that doesn't stop them! It's so weird being in this position guys. I'm not just the oldest Spanish missionary in the mission but I'm the oldest missionary! as in time wise, there are some old elders here... But that's about it for this week nothing else really. We went fishing today and I caught an alligator gar! Imagine a alligator head on the body of a fish and that's about what it is. I'll try to send the pictures tomorrow at district meeting. Well I love yall so much and can't wait to see yall in six weeks!! Elder horrocks

Tuesday, September 6 2016

okay yall!! this week was a awesome week because we were given the chance to go up to nola for a ztm! it was really cool because i got to see elder caldwell and elder ainge again! those two guys have definately been two of my best friends i have made not just in my mission but in my entire life! one thing i would really like to touch on is the truth behind what nathan taught me. the friencds that i have made on my mission really have been life long. even if i had no "success" in numbers on my mission, i wouldnt change the friends ive made at all. the bonds i have made throught my mission has helped me grow to be a stronger member of the church and has increased my testimony in the gospel more than i ever would have imagined. and elder bean of course. my companion elder bean is one of my favorite missionaries ive met on my entire mission! sorry for the short email. it has been weird with labor day. just wanted to say that i love yall. elder horrocks
